About Kevin

  I've had humble beginnings in cycling with plenty of setbacks along the way.  I feel like I've learned from each and every setback, even though I've had to learn sometimes two and three times. 

1998 - My first BRAG (Bicycle Ride Across Georgia) - dropped out on 3rd day
1999 - Finished my first BRAG ride, including my first century mid-week
2000 - Finished BRAG and a handful of centuries throughout the year
2001 - Finished 11 centuries, some progressively more difficult than in previous years
2002 - Introduced to long distance brevets - did an entire series and finished Boston-Montreal-Boston (750 miles in  79:34)
2003 - Finished the epic Paris-Brest-Paris (750 miles in 83:12)
2004 - Sebring 24 hour race (316 miles).
       - Finished the Rocky Mountain 1200k (750 miles in 67:13)
         Finished Boston-Montreal-Boston (750 miles in 79:25)

2005
- Sebring 24 hour race
  (278 miles; quit early but was happy with 238 miles in 12 hours)
- Competed in 2-person Heart of the South with my brother
  (510 miles in 36:00)
- Finished the California Gold Rush
 (750 miles in a disappointing 86:42)
- Finished Boston-Montreal-Boston
  (750 miles in 59:21; fifth place finish; qualified for solo RAAM)
- Finished the Colorado Last Chance
  (750 miles in 68:42); my 3rd 1200k of the year


2006

- Sebring 24 hour race (387 miles).
- Heart of the South solo race
  (510 miles in 38:11; 4th place finish)
- Georgia West to East record
  (302.4 miles in 17:06; 17.7 mph average).
- Adirondack 540
  (544 miles in 36:05; 2nd place finish; 15.1mph average
  qualified again for solo RAAM).


2007
- Sebring 24 hour race (Feb.) - 406.5 miles

- Heart of the South solo 510 mile race (March).  
   2nd place.  37:09. 

- Elite PAC tour -  approx. 2,800 miles in 17 days; average
   175-200 miles/day. (June).

- Finished the 750 mile epic Paris-Brest-Paris (August) - 63:56
   on fixed gear - 11th American finisher (632 Americans).


2008
- Sebring 24 hour race (Feb.) - 293.4 miles

- Two-person fixed gear Natchez Trace Parkway (March)
    560 mile training race in 33:59 = 16.5mph

- Two-person fixed gear double Heart of the South (April)
    1,034 Mile race in 68 hours = 15.2 mph

- Two-Person fixed gear RAAM (June)
    3,014 miles in 8d 4h 21m  = 15.35mph

2009

Heart of the South - April - 517 miles in 35:41 (14.5mph)  1st place

Georgia East to West Record - May- 302.8 miles in 16:39 (18.19mph)

Solo RAAM - 3,021 miles in 10 days 17 hours 3 minutes (11.75mph)
