Day 2- The Crucial Desert

Hey family and friends! Kevin had a good night. I'm sure Gator will update once they change shifts with us. John, Erin (or Bejan), and I will be taking over in the desert about 11am local time. Day 2 was the lowest day of Kevin's RAAM last year since he tends to struggle with the heat and the dreaded conditions that the desert presents. Hopefully we'll have tailwinds and since we are heading North today I beleive weather conditions are calling for winds from the south 15-20 mph and gusts up to 30. The temps seem to be cooler than the past few days they've had in this area but that is relative since we had what the locals called a "cool front" with temps around 104 degrees last year. Looks about the same but with tailswinds hopefully. He's wearing a new loose fitting eastern desert inspired long sleeve shirt that keeps the air flowing and I think that is going to be a huge factor in keeping him cool today. Thanks to all the fans out there and keep the comments coming, we are reading them and it is inspiring him to keep the hammer going.

Tailwinds,

Troy

  2. Kevin,
Keep those pedals turning and you'll be fine. You crew made a video showing your stash of ice socks so we know you know how to keep your cool.
