Fighting Sleep.

The toughest part of RAAM is sleep deprivation. It is a constant struggle mile after mile.
Kevin has been struggling with it especially the last 150 miles. The fog and desolate area he's riding in doesn't lend help with his struggle to continue to pedal productively. Despite all this he is still pedaling toward his goal.

  2. Kevin, good job! I can't imagine experiencing the sleep deprivation much less the physical and mental exertion. I am proud of you along with many others. These incredible blogs by your crew have made us realize why it is called the world's toughest bike race; the photo's are incredible. The race within oneself must be incredible and a definite life experience. Can't imagine even finishing; heck, my longest race only lasted less than ten hours.

    Pedal on.

  3. A LITTLE TUNE FROM KANSAS, THOUGH YOU HAVE TRAVELED THROUGH THERE ALREADY..

    "Carry on My Wayward Son
There'll be Peace When You Are Done
Lay your Weary Head to Rest
    Don't You Cry No More

Once I Rose Above The Noise And Confusion
Just To Get A Glimpse Beyond This Illusion
I Was Soaring Ever Higher, But I Flew Too High
Though My Eyes Could See I Still Was A Blind Man
Though My Mind Could Think I Still Was A Mad Man
I Hear The Voices When I'm Dreaming,
    I Can Hear Them Say

Masquerading As A Man With A Reason
My Charade Is The Event Of The Season
And If I Claim To Be A Wise Man, It Surely
    Means That I Don't Know
On A Stormy Sea Of Moving Emotion
Tossed About I'm Like A Ship On The Ocean
I Set A Course For Winds Of Fortune, But
    I Hear The Voices Say

    Carry On My Wayward Son
There'll Be Peace When You Are Done
Lay Your Weary Head To Rest
    Don't You Cry No More

Carry On, You Will Always Remember
Carry On, Nothing Equals The Splendor
Now Your Life's No Longer Empty
    Surely Heaven Waits For You

    Carry On My Wayward Son
There'll Be Peace When You Are Done
Lay Your Weary Head To Rest
    Don't You Cry No More"

    Rock On Kevin...........

  4. As Dave Bundrick his own self has reportedly said, "Sleep is over-rated."

    Good luck, Kevin.

  5. I am SO proud of Kevin! Words can't really express it. I post daily comments to my Facebook profile and a lot of my friends are following Kevin's journey too...they are equally impressed with his accomplishments (okay, so I'm probably MORE impressed...it's my right as a little sis). Keep taking care of Kevin and let him know there's entire communities of people he doesn't even know rooting for him!!
